Morning: The tour bus and guide will pick you up at the designated meeting point. Afterward, depart for Can Tho.
Upon arrival in Can Tho, you will visit Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery – the largest Zen Monastery in the Mekong Delta, with unique architectural features reflective of the Ly and Tran dynasties. It is one of the most significant Buddhist structures in the southwestern region of Vietnam.
Afternoon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, head to the Con Son tourist boat station. Here, you’ll board a boat that will take you along the Hau River to the Floating Fish Village. Learn about the various fish species that thrive in the Mekong River, such as the jumping fish, giant barb (Mekong river monster), and red catfish. Observe the local fishermen’s techniques, feed the fish, enjoy a fish massage, take photos, and sample complimentary fish cakes made from snakehead fish.
Next, the boat will take you to Con Son Island, where the locals will welcome you with a refreshing herbal drink made from Sake leaves or Butterfly Pea flowers grown in their gardens. Stroll around the village, breathe in the fresh air, and participate in various activities, such as visiting grapefruit and longan orchards, witnessing the “flying snakehead fish” performance by local farmers, and learning to make traditional southern Vietnamese cakes.
Evening: Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. You’ll then have free time to explore the vibrant “Tay Do” city at night. Admire the beauty of Can Tho Bridge at night, explore the Ninh Kieu night market, and visit the Can Tho Street Art.
OVERNIGHT IN CAN THO
Morning: Board a boat to visit the Ninh Kieu Wharf and take a boat trip on the Can Tho River to experience the Cai Rang Floating Market – a unique market where boats gather at the river’s confluence to trade a variety of fruits and specialties. Return to the hotel to check out and have breakfast.
Afterward, visit the Binh Thuy Ancient House – a classic French-style house built in 1870 by the Duong family. This house was the filming location for the famous French movie “The Lover” directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, as well as many Vietnamese films.
Continue the journey to Ca Mau. On the way, stop in Soc Trang, the “Land of Golden Pagodas” in Vietnam. Visit Som Rong Pagoda – a vast Buddhist complex with numerous structures, including the main hall, the “thousands-loving pagoda” stupa reminiscent of Thailand’s Arun Temple, and a majestic 63-meter-long reclining Buddha statue.
Afternoon: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue the journey to Ca Mau.
Evening: Arrive in Ca Mau, check into your hotel and relax.
Dinner will be served at a local restaurant. The rest of the evening is free for you to explore Ca Mau at your leisure.
OVERNIGHT IN CA MAU
Morning: After breakfast, start your journey to discover Dat Mui Ca Mau. On the way, you will pass the Phan Ngoc Hien Monument – a tribute to the teacher who led the Hon Khoai Uprising. Upon arrival at Dat Mui, visit the Ca Mau Cape Cultural Park, located within the UNESCO-recognized Ca Mau Cape Biosphere Reserve. Enjoy the majestic view of the endless mangrove forests and the blue sea from the observatory. Continue to visit the National Coordinates Landmark and the Cape’s bow-shaped end point.
Afternoon: Have lunch at a restaurant in Dat Mui. After lunch, say farewell to Dat Mui and visit the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site – a culturally significant complex dedicated to the late President, featuring a shrine, a stilt house, a display area, a cinema, and an exhibition of stone sculptures, all set within a verdant, tranquil garden.
Afterward, head to Bac Lieu.
